As President and Portfolio Manager at YouFirst Financial, Simon brings a wealth of experience in multi-asset discretionary portfolio management, as well as comprehensive financial and retirement planning. He works closely with individuals and families to develop and implement tailored investment strategies that reflect each client’s unique circumstances and aspirations. Simon’s true passion lies in getting to know his clients personally, taking the time to understand their goals and turning their financial dreams into reality.
Before becoming a Portfolio Manager, Simon honed his skills as an Investment Analyst and Associate Portfolio Manager, where he played an integral role in shaping the firm’s investment strategies. His expertise spans across equities, fixed income, alternative assets, and real estate, providing a well-rounded approach to investment decision-making.
Simon’s background also includes over six years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, where he worked in process engineering, engineering management, and project management in Calgary, Alberta, and Saint John, New Brunswick.
Simon is registered with the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) as a Portfolio Manager and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is an active member of the CFA Institute, CFA Society Toronto, and the Calgary chapter of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), where he is also a licensed Professional Engineer. Additionally, Simon has completed the Partners, Directors, and Senior Officers Course (PDO).
A proud alumnus of Queen’s University, Simon graduated in 2012 with First-Class Honours in Chemical Engineering.

With over two decades of experience in investment management, Doug has been a trusted voice in the industry since 2000. As Chairman and Senior Portfolio Manager at YouFirst Financial, Doug draws on a wealth of expertise to guide the firm’s investment strategies, ensuring that each client’s portfolio is managed with the utmost care and precision. Previously, he served as President and Portfolio Manager at YouFirst Financial, and as Director and Portfolio Manager at Foster & Associates, a well-regarded IIROC investment dealer in Toronto.
Before transitioning into finance, Doug gained invaluable business insight in senior marketing and engineering management roles at companies such as Motorola, AT&T, and IPS Automation, where he was Vice President of Engineering. His diverse work experience spans the aerospace, computer, process control, pulp and paper, steel, and telecommunications industries. This unique background provides Doug with a deep understanding of the businesses behind the balance sheets, offering valuable perspective when evaluating investment opportunities.
Doug is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, a Professional Engineer, and holds the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation. He has completed the Partners, Directors, and Senior Officers Course (PDO) as well as the Professional Financial Planning Course (PFPC), further enhancing his ability to provide financial advice. Doug earned his Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering in 1978 and his Master’s in Management Science in 1984, both from the University of Waterloo.

With a deep commitment to fostering meaningful client relationships, Jane has been a trusted member of the YouFirst Financial team since 1996. Beginning her career as a financial consultant and later serving as Vice President, Jane now leads the Client Experience team, enhancing every aspect of the client journey with a focus on building long-lasting, positive relationships.
Before transitioning to the financial services industry, Jane honed her expertise in customer service, purchasing, and marketing at Loblaws, CIL, and the Bank of Nova Scotia. This diverse background in service-oriented roles has shaped her approach to client care, where she emphasizes clear communication, empathy, and responsiveness.
Jane has completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and is a proud graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Jane is dedicated to making the financial experience at YouFirst Financial both approachable and empowering for every client.
