Privacy Policy

YouFirst Financial Inc. is committed to protecting our clients' privacy and the confidentiality of their personal information. The measures we take to fulfil these obligations are:

• We ask our clients for only necessary personal information.
  The "Know Your Client" information we request is only the information we need for regulatory and income tax requirements (name, address, contact information, birth date, social insurance numbers, asset holdings and values, investment knowledge and objectives, spouse's name and occupation, and children's and dependants' names and ages).
  
  
• We limit access to clients' personal information.
  We record clients' personal information electronically on computer servers to which only authorized employees have access, and only by means of secure passwords. Access to clients' personal information is only on a "need to know" basis. Backups of our server data are stored offsite and are password protected. Paper copies of clients' personal information are kept in locked filing cabinets.
  
  
• We prevent unauthorized disclosure of clients' personal information.
  We prohibit disclosure of any client's personal information to any third party without the client's explicit consent. YouFirst Financial has adopted the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct of the CFA Institute.   We shred paper documents containing clients' personal information before discarding such documents. We delete electronically-stored personal information that is no longer required for contractual or regulatory purposes.
  
  
• We have a Privacy Officer.
  Jane Garner is our Privacy Officer: she can be reached by calling 416-229-1251. She is responsible for monitoring our fulfilment of our privacy commitments. A client wishing to review his or her personal information in our possession should send a written request to this effect to Jane.
