Douglas Garner - President, Portfolio Manager, P. Eng., CFA

Doug has been in the investment business for twelve years and before becoming President and Portfolio Manager at YouFirst Financial Inc. he was a Director and Portfolio Manager at Foster & Associates, a Toronto based IDA investment dealer.

Prior to his position at Foster, he was Research Manager at an investment counsel firm for two years and before that worked as a Financial Planner at YouFirst Financial.

Before launching his financial career he gained extensive business experience from holding senior marketing/ engineering management positions at Motorola, AT&T Canada and as VP Engineering at IPS Automation. This actual business experience provides insight into the operation of the company that lies behind the investment paper. Doug has work experience in the aerospace, computer, process control, pulp and paper, steel and telecommunications industries.

In addition to being a Professional Engineer, Doug has completed the PDO (Partners, Directors and Senior Officers Course) and the PFPC (Professional Financial Planning Course) and holds the CIM (Canadian Investment Manager) and CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designations. He is a member of the Toronto CFA Society. Doug gained his Bachelor of Applied Science in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo in 1978 and his Masters in Management Science in 1984.

Jane Garner - Vice-President, BA, EPC

Prior to becoming Vice-President at YouFirst Financial Inc., Jane was a Financial Consultant at YouFirst Financial for twelve years. Jane has completed the Canadian Securities Course and offers financial guidance to her clients on mutual fund investments, RRSPs, RESPs and issues concerning seniors. She has taken courses on elder care and as an Elder Planning Counsellor is a member of the Canadian Institute of Elder Planning Studies.

Jane is a graduate of the University of Toronto and, prior to YouFirst, gained significant experience in customer service, purchasing and marketing with Loblaws, CIL and the Bank of Nova Scotia.
